Qualitative research of indigo development between Japan and Taiwan

The purpose of this study is to explore the development of the indigo industry in Japan and Taiwan. Further, it would be analyzed the comparison of Japan and Taiwan indigo development differences. Researcher interviewed nine carftmen and visited their workplace in Japan (including Tokushima, Kyoto, Tokyo and Nagoya). Researcher also interviewed three carftmen and visited their workplace in Taiwan. The qualitative research data was colleted from the semi-structural questionnaire. The comparison of Japan and Taiwan indigo development differences are identified domins. Finally, the study proposes suggestions for sustainable development and innovation in the indigo industry.
