New method for optimizing the necessary time to update the Azimut-Elevation heliostat position in the blind tracking

In this work, we deal with the problem of the Azimuth-Elevation (AE) blind tracking for the heliostats in solar central tower. The variation of the AE heliostat angular positions is supposed to happen in well-defined steps of time. It is the time necessary for updating the heliostat position where the mirror is kept properly aligned to the receiver situated on the top of the tower. We noted it here as the time necessary to update the position: TUP. This approach allows identifying the optimal rate of calculation of the new position and avoiding the arbitrary determination of TUP to reduce the number of motor interventions. The hourly means of TUP based on the AE equations of heliostat motions, are performed. Then, the new idea defines the schedule TUP variation for the two axis AE motions. We deduce at the end that the TUP of the Azimuth and Elevation noted consecutively TUAP and TUEP, depend strongly on the period of the day, the heliostat field position and the annual season.
