Dynamics of a body with internal moving masses in the presence of dry friction

Dynamics of a rigid body moving along a plane and carrying internal movable masses is analyzed. The body is subjected by dry friction forces obeying Coulomb's law. The motion is controlled by internal masses that have two degrees of freedom relative to the body. It is shown that, under certain conditions, the body can be transferred from an initial position to any prescribed terminal position in the plane.
