Behavior of temperature in photovoltaic panels installed on surfaces with different albedo indexes

High temperatures reduce the output power of photovoltaic panels. This work analyzes the influence of surfaces with different albedo indices on the temperature of the panels, from the comparison between two surfaces with different emissivity indices. A water-based reflective material composed of hollow ceramic nanometer beads was used on the installation surface of the panels, compared to the installation of the panels in a galvanized steel roof. The monitoring of the temperature of the roof plate and the panel was registered by a datalogger device. Through the reflective coating a maximum temperature reduction was achieved in the roof plate of 22.7 and 6.7 °C on the panel surface.
