Use of 3D scanning technology for plant upgrades

This paper describes the benefit of utilizing 3D Scanning Technology for designing and implementing upgrades of existing facilities. Provided within this paper are examples of previously executed projects, a description of how the scanners work, and an overview of how the 3D scans can be incorporated into engineering design. Furthermore, the future of 3D scanning technology and the associated benefits will be discussed.
