PAPR reduction in OFDM systems using clipping based on symbol statistics

A method for Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction in an OFDM system is presented using clipping based on the statistics of a large number of OFDM symbols. The clipping technique uses scaled values of standard deviations of real and imaginary parts of complex discrete samples of OFDM symbols.
