Optimization of model parameters for gasoline properties predictions

The technological and economic development of the last few years has led to an ever-expanding national road fleet, all of which operate with internal combustion engines with increasingly specific fuels and demand in terms of quantity and quality Still rising. This quality is closely related to the physical properties of the fuel, as these properties exert a major influence on the supply and combustion. The most significant characteristics are: density, vapor pressure and octane number. The prediction of these properties from the types of cuts or the chemical nature of the mixture would facilitate the control of blending and the achievement of gasolines satisfying both demand and regulatory specifications. The objective of this work is to propose models for the prediction of the physical properties of the essences prepared at the Skikda refinery (East Algeria) as a function of the volume fractions of the cuts used in blending. Real measurements were used to obtain the models which were validated by experimental values and satisfactory determination coefficients.
