A BIM-aided visualization digital factory Framework

Digital factory requires necessarily tools and methodologies allowing the design, simulation, and optimization of production systems. However, current domestic researches and applications of building information modeling on digital factory are generally in the exploratory stage. Therefore, the paper proposes a building information modeling-aided visualization digital factory framework. After presenting the overall architecture and the deployment architecture of the proposed framework, the paper analyzes the major functions in the framework and illustrates an application sample in one tobacco enterprise. The Framework is intended to act as an integrated platform for designing out digital factory, by providing informed building information modeling-driven guidance throughout design stages.
