Digitally enhanced high speed ADC for low power wireless applications

The digitally-enhanced high speed (200 Msps) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) includes dynamically configurable digital signal post-processing options such as a digital down-converter for In-phase and Quadrature signal detection (I/Q demodulation), digital decimation filter for achieving higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and digital beamforming that allows phase corrections of incoming signals in multi-channel operations. The high speed ADC with the dynamically reconfigurable digital features can simplify today's RF system designs, and allows low power operation. This paper describes how these features can be utilized for portable wireless designs, industrial and automotive wireless sensors applications, etc.
