Modified architecture of multilayer graphene as highly efficient heat spreader

Due to having a very high thermal conductivity, graphene is one of the best materials which can be used as heat spreader in nanoelectronic circuits. Efficiency of a graphene heat spreader is correlated to multilayer graphene with proper shape of the heat spreader. The aim of this paper is to find an optimum thickness of the graphene heat spreader with proper shape so that maximum temperature in the heat spreader becomes lesser than other researchers' data. Here, COMSOL Multiphysics software is used to design multilayer graphene heat spreader of different shapes and their performances are simulated for three hotspots inside the heat spreader. In this paper, the positions of all three hotspots are kept fixed. But thickness and shape of the heat spreader is varied. Four shapes of heat spreader are considered in this paper. An optimized shape was obtained as it has minimum temperature of 305.17 K by simulating those shapes with optimum thickness.
