Simulation of induction motor temperature determination by additional voltage injections

The survey of determination of induction motor stator and rotor winding temperature with non-invasive techniques is shown. The technique of determination of the stator and rotor winding resistance and temperature with combined intermittent DC voltage and high frequency and low-magnitude ac voltage injections is proposed. The assessment of its accuracy in a wide range of load torque and stator current frequency is evaluated. The technique and results of simulation in Matlab is presented. The influence of additional stator voltages injections on stator current and produced torque of an induction motor is shown. The possibility of practical implementation in modern electric drives is discussed.
