Calculation methods of tubular linear induction motor

Among different linear motors, tubular linear induction motors (TLIM) have been employed in many applications in industry due to their high efficiency and low construction cost. However mathematical simulation of such motors is different from common rotating motors by reason of end effects Proposed simplified methods are based on detailed equivalent magnetic circuits (DEMC) and axisymmetric 2D finite element method (FEM) not requiring the computing power. To validate the proposed methods, the obtained results are compared with 3D FEM calculation and experimental data.
