Research on the efficiency of optical resources utilization for OLS networks

In this paper, the general principle of OLS technology is described in details. Two types of transmission were described: payload and labels transmission. We have assessed the problem of effective size of data unit while taking into account the network parameters such as network delay, efficiency of channels utilization and power consumption. The main approaches to improve the efficiency of channels utilization have been investigated. New mathematical model to determine the efficiency of channels utilization has been proposed and main equations have been derived to estimate the network parameters.
