Personalized healthcare with context-awareness platform

Demand of healthcare service has been increasing due to the rapid growth of elderly population worldwide. Cost-effectiveness in healthcare becomes an open question, and personalized healthcare is a potential answers that helps delivering the right healthcare service to the need of an individual at any place and any time. The system that support personalized healthcare therefore requires an ability to capture an individual condition and react appropriately. This paper presents a context-awareness platform that integrates health information from various sources including wearable devices and latest medical record from Hospital Information System (HIS), before contextualizing this information for further analysis. The context analysis process applies clustering technique to find possible symptoms and invoke set of healthcare services according to the predefined rules. Embedded context-awareness mechanism is extensible to learn contextual pattern for new symptom. The platform has been developed and initially tested by group of sampling patients at a local hospital in Chiang Rai.
