Wideband circularly polarized MSA with L-strip feed and shorting probes

Wideband circularly polarized (CP) suspended microstrip patch antenna (MSA) with suspended L-strip and shorting probes is proposed for ISM Band (2.45 GHz) application. Shorting probes is connected to radiating patch on diagonal position, which is responsible for generation of CP radiation on patch. Due to position of shorting probes two modes of equal amplitude and orthogonal in phase are generated. Square shape slot is embedded on radiating patch which is responsible for increases electric current length on patch to enhance the Axial Ratio (AR) bandwidth of antenna. Proposed antenna is fabricated and experimentally demonstrated. Measured results show that antenna has 10dB impedance bandwidth of 63.72% (1.85-3.15 GHz) and AR bandwidth of 51.27% (1.84-2.95 GHz). Simulated gain is 8.13 dBi over entire 3dB axial ratio bandwidth.
