Bringing intelligent inferences through a semantic structure markup system with the support of chemical ontologies

Semantic inferences about the structural features are achieved through a semantic structure markup system with the support of ontological relationships. The significance of the markup system is the description of valence electrons of every atom in the structure. The semantics of chemical structure is captured in different levels with appropriate XML elements. The advantage of the markup system is useful in supporting chemical editor to draw meaningful structures from the structural fragments. Also the methodology enables the XML description to derive intelligent inferences about the chemical structure. In this study, the correct type of bridged bicyclic system is arrived for proper structure construction. Valid information about the combination of functional groups in chemical structure described in XML is also arrived at through ontological assertions.
