Performance comparison of DFT and DWPT based OFDM system using 64 DAPSK

This article proposes the application of 64-Differential Amplitude and Phase Shift Keying (DAPSK) for Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) and Discrete Wavelet Packet Transform (DWPT) based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Utilization of DAPSK reduces the computational complexity of the system, as it does not need any equalization or channel estimation which is a critical issue in DWPT systems. Performance of both DFT and DWPT based OFDM systems are analyzed in terms of Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) and Bit Error Rate (BER) over Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading channel. Simulation results show that DWPT performs better than DFT in the presence of 64 DAPSK in terms of PAPR and BER.
