Experimental estimation of surface heat transfer coefficient for air-cooled internal combustion engine

The article discusses the possibility of generators with air-cooled internal combustion engines to supply both electricity and heat power. Such equipment has usually carburetor gasoline internal combustion engines and can be used in everyday life by professional builders, geologists, military and rescue workers in emergency area and in areas with a lacking infrastructure. The method of experimental estimation of surface heat transfer coefficient for the micro-thermal power plants based on air-cooled internal combustion engines was developed. It is shown that the net efficiency of micro thermal power plants with capacity of 2.4 kW decreases by about 2.5% while heating load increasing. At the same time the rate of fuel usage increases by about 5%.
