Design and analysis op multi-shell spherical microwave lens antennas

Spherical dielectric lenses are a viable consideration in many antenna systems but have not been used extensively since the I960's. The most attractive characteristic of spherical lenses is their inherent symmetry, which permits the formation of beams in any direction without scan loss. Also, because several beams can be supported simultaneously and the focusing properties are independent of frequency, spherically symmetric lenses can be used in a broad spectrum of antenna systems. Most of the previous analysis and design work in this area has been limited in its coverage, having been performed before the advent of sophisticated computers.
