Study on coupling vibration of passenger-vehicle-bridge system and influence on the ride comfort

Based on the classical spring-mass and simple supported beam model, the passenger model in the car body is established, then the passenger-vehicle-bridge coupling vibration system is formed. The differential equations of vibration in generalized coordinates system are obtained, Newmark integral method is used to solve the equations, and a corresponding program is written. Compared the difference of the vibration response time history curves of the vehicle carriage with the passenger, it is shown that vehicle's vibration acceleration cannot exactly estimate the passengers' riding comfort grade. The dynamic responses extremum change tendency with the vehicle speed is analyzed, and it is demonstrated that the speed is the main factor on the ride comfort assessment.
