Study of load frequency control by using differential evolution algorithm

In power system, load frequency control has been primary issue. Our main objective is to maintain the equilibrium between generated power and load demand without deviation in frequency and tie-line power flow. This paper deals with differential evolution (DE) algorithm based optimizing technique to obtain the optimal value of gains of proportional-integral and proportional-integral-derivative controller to analyze the performance of two area non-reheat thermal-thermal interconnected power system. In the present work, the result obtained under the action of DE optimized conventional controller is compared to that of the results obtained using other optimizing technique as reported in others work.
