Triple bands MIMO antenna for WLAN applications

A triple bands MIMO antenna is provided, which can operate in the 5.8-GHz, 5.2-GHz and 2.4-GHz bands of the wireless local area network (WLAN) applications This antenna is composed by two identical and symmetrical monopoles and a partial ground. To reduce the mutual coupling, two T-shaped parasitic elements is put on the ground flat, and a resonator is placed between the two monopoles. Simulated results show that the antenna can operate through 2-2.82GHz and 4.92-5.85GHZ operating in WLAN bands including the 2.4-GHz, 5.2-GHz and 5.8-GHz, and the mutual coupling of less than -20dB. All results indicate that the MIMO antenna is a good candidate for WLAN applications.
