This paper is concerned with applicability of intelligent PID controller, which is proposed by Fliss and Join recently. First, we analyze the stability of the closed-loop system when the parameter a, which should be given by a user, of intelligent PID controller is varying, and propose a method to determine the suitable range of a, by which the stability is guaranteed, by using the roots locus.
