Band detection in DGGE images using connectionist models and evolutionary computation, a first approximation

The current research, shows the development of a first approximation to an algorithm of DGGE (Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis) Bands images identification. The proposed algorithm considers the use of Artificial Neural Networks based on deformable connectionist models and subjected to an evolutionary algorithm.
