Modelling and simulation challenges in the urbanized area

The paper deals with the lessons learned during the building the model of the future megacity up. It explains the process of data acquisition normalization and amplification made based on the forecasted future city design in the horizon of 20 years. This approach can be seen as the recommendation for future similar project when the rapid terrain generation is required. The second part depicts the current approach in the individual layers design and explains the steps to build up ontology that should unify the layers interconnection. Interconnectivity makes the model suitable for the analytical work over the current data of urbanized area and allows for complex analysis. The last part explains the architecture of the solution and explains its current limitation mainly from the simulation perspective. To create a single simulation that might fit to the purposes of a replication of millions entities working over the size of thousand meter squared is not possible. Therefore the recommendation for the simulation composition is elaborated. The interfaces are critical in this solution; therefore the difficulties to connect the model with COTS simulation products are explained.
