Research on Evacuation Strategies to Prevent Stampedes in Large-Scale Events

Continuous development and extensive application of video surveillance, image processing and data mining technology have greatly enhanced the capability to prevent stampedes during large-scale activities. On the premise of this, a model of binary and two-stage evacuation plan was proposed to prevent as well as control stampedes in large-scale activities. Under the guidance of ideology of the model, relevant suggestions on organizing safeguard rules, rules for plans and warnings and technical supports were also proposed for prevention, controlling and evacuation management of stampedes in large-scale events, to eliminate the possibility of a stampede in time and reduce its frequency.
