Coil design of a wireless power transfer charging system for a drone

This study deals with the design of a wireless charging system applied to a drone. Key aspects for this application are the reduction of the weight and dimension of the on-board system maintaining high levels of transmitted power and efficiency. Other important aspect is the compatibility of the WPT system with any type of possible payload. An optimized coil system is proposed and some simulations are carried out to verify the electrical performances.
