Dual band second order modified Sierpinski monopole reduced size fractal antenna

This paper presents modified Sierpinski monopole fractal antenna for dual band applications. Considerable size reduction upto 53.5% in terms of the overall size of the antenna and 74.24% in terms of the copper remaining is achieved in comparison to the conventional triangular monopole antenna. The fractalization is done upto second order for radiation of the fractal antenna in two frequency bands. The antenna is simulated, modeled and optimized in HFSS and CST. For the optimization of the proposed structure in the desired bands the parametric analysis is done for different dimensions of the fractal antenna. Fabricated prototype is developed and measured results are presented along with the simulated ones.
