Design of active and reactive power flows flexible regulation devices for the effective integration of wind power into the grid

In recent years, the relevance of renewable energy has increased as never before. This fact is confirmed by the current environmental, social, political situations in the world. However, their integration into the grid creates a number of problems that require attention. This is mainly caused by a drop in voltage, frequency and power quality deterioration. But the using of flexible power transmission devices (FACTS), such as STATCOM can not only cope with this problem, but also increase the line capacity, as well as improve the performance of the power system as a whole. In this connection, we propose a model of static reactive power compensator based on the Z matrix to identify the required level of reactive power compensation depending on the load.
