Speech analysis in cochlear implant using auditory filter bank model

Current speech processing strategies for Cochlear Implants (CI) use a Alter bank to decompose the input signal into a small number of bands. The Auditory filter bank is collection of band pass filters that separates the input signals (broadband) into multiple output signals (narrowband). Through years, the shape analytic description of the auditory filter has improved. We compare the performance of auditory filters across noises with the aim to find the filter that performed the best in noise. Sentences are processed through software emulations of Cochlear Implant signal processors. The signals are then presented, as either the sum of sine waves at the center of the channels. The results differences are not statistically significant; but provide a framework for the proper use of the auditory filters.
