Design of multiband planar antenna for wireless LAN with finite element method

A return loss characteristic of a multiband planar antenna for wireless LAN is calculated with a commercial finite element method solver, HFSS, and is compared with that of the fabricated antenna. From the results, the calculated values coincide closely with the measured values in the use frequencies. Also, for the measurement of the radiation patterns, the maximum and average gains of the fabricated antenna are enough high to be used to the wireless LAN.
