Contribution of polymer microstructure to space charge, dielectric properties and electrical conduction

The consequences of macromolecular mobility on the space charge behavior of a series of poly-(ethylene terephtalate) samples with controlled crystallinity ranging from 3 to 42% were studied. Space charge measurements were performed by Pulsed Electro Acoustic (PEA) technique. Relaxation processes were probed by dielectric spectroscopy. Space charge and conduction mechanisms were observed to strongly vary with increased mobility of macromolecules and microstructure change.
