Analysis and simulation of modulation effect by aircraft rotating parts

The periodical motion of aircraft rotating parts will cause a periodically modulated effect to radar return signal. Firstly, the scheme of odd and even blades' modulation effect to radar return signal has been analyzed, in accordance with the parameter model of aircraft rotating parts' modulation characteristic. Then, through simulation and analysis, the situation of odd and even blades are compared, and the results prove that odd and even blades mainly affect the time domain modulation characteristic. At last, the difference of modulation spectrum between two kinds of airplane has been compared, and the results indicate that the parameters such as blade length and rotating speed will cause the difference of mudulation spectrum. The analysis results above provide theoretical basis and support for dynamic radar target recognition.
