Impact energy dependent emission of MCs+ molecular ions

In this paper we address the emission of atomic and molecular ions from the molybdenum foils under Cs
⁺
bombardment in order to study the MCs
⁺
formation with changing Cs impact energy. Monotonic increase of MoCs
⁺
intensity with increasing primary ion energy was observed. This finding is correlated to the variation of surface work function φ and cesium surface concentrations. Instantaneous surface work function shows a linear dependence on cCs. A phenomenological model, based on cCs dependent of variation of φ, has been proposed to explain the MoCs

data.
