Fraud-sentient security architecture for improved telephone banking experience

In this paper we propose a fraud-aware security architecture framework for improved telephone banking experience that enables easy set-up of framework in real environment. The proposed architecture is purely derived from requirements collected from 10 banks for experimental research and development and therefore capable of fully supporting practical testing, experimentation and deployment of standard telephone banking protocols. An attempt has been made to remove traditional knowledge-based security methods by utilizing modern technology of voice biometrics for caller verification and authentication that supports a novel fraud database approach which not only automatically sets up fraudster's profile for future references but also distributes the fraudster data across other credit institutions and investigation agencies. This work attempts to minimize identity theft by creating a shared network of fraudster information. The system level implementation of architecture supports dual layered security with an additional abstraction layer at service level for dynamic composition of security services. The work ends by providing comparison of the envisioned system with existing contemporary work in the area which validates the proposed architecture and proves its usability in real time.
