A fragile watermarking algorithm for image tamper detection based on chaotic maps

Detection of tamper attempts on digital media is an important area in data security, providing valuable improvements over data integrity. The algorithm discussed in this paper relies on chaotic maps in order to embed hidden marks in the redundant data of an image. Arnold's cat map is applied to the host image and Tent map is applied to the watermark image. The provided algorithm is able to identify tamper attempts and precisely locate them on the image canvas. Experimental results show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm under different content manipulation attacks.
