Car platooning reconfiguration applying reset control techniques

In recent years the effectiveness of coordinated control platoons of vehicles in order to increase the capacity in road networks has been demonstrated. By means of cooperative driving it can be achieved a greater traffic throughput and a decrease in the fuel consumption, and thus, in the emissions. Within this setting, for this work, a platoon, whose vehicles are designed relying on a simple bicycle model and in accordance with the reset control methodology, is considered. This platoon will be subjected to change in the safety distance required at a determined moment while the platoon is travelling within nominal performance (velocities and distances between cars are constant).
