Sliding mode control: A novel control method for unstructured systems

In future the dynamical system which is highly nonlinear & unstructured would be required a more precise control system. Various issues for the stabilization of the plant with parametric uncertainties and unpredictable environments remain unsolved. Sliding mode controller (SMC) is one of the nonlinear robust controller that can solve these issues. In this paper the robustness property of the PID and SMC are compared by applied these controllers for controlling the speed of a DC motor.
