Certain investigation on face recognition under varying pose and illumination

Face recognition is mainly used for identifying the faces in the videos, images in a different pose, lighting, expression and alignment. It is used in numerous applications like security, recognition, and surveillance. The challenging factor in face recognition is handling the pose and illumination changes. Most of the facial recognition system is designed to handle the frontal views of the face, based on the supposition that the person is looking straight into the camera. This assumption is not applicable to many applications. For such applications pose invariant face recognition method is used. This review presents a detailed comparison of different methods used for face recognition under different illumination and pose.
