Comprehensive study of web application attacks and classification

In this era of computing, web applications are very popular and very important for everyone. Web applications help us to fetch information, files etc. from anywhere and anytime. As we know the development of web-based services is increasing day by day. So the related attacks on web applications are also increasing. Web application vulnerabilities allow attackers to gain access to databases from which attackers can theft confidential or sensitive data. Attackers use different kinds of attacks such as SQL injection attack, Cross Site Scripting attack and many more to access the web applications to get sensitive data. Attackers attack client's system by using web applications and use client's data for their benefits. To protect our data and applications, we have to be aware of different techniques which are used by the attackers to hack our data and threaten our applications. In this paper web, application threats are classified on the basis of web application vulnerabilities and are explained in detail.
