Acknowledgement based approaches for detecting routing misbehaviour in MANETs

Here, we analyse routing misbehaviour in MANETS. Generally, the routing protocols for MANETs are outlined on the underlying support assuming that all the nodes that are taking part are wholly collaborative. But, owing to broad composition and seldom accessible battery-based energy, node or route misbehaviours can subsist. One of the routing misbehaviours is that a few greedy nodes will take part in process of discovery and maintenance of route but fail to direct the packets. Several schemes which are used as a technique in addition to routing protocols for detecting routing misbehaviour and for reducing their unfavourable effect are analysed such as the 2ACK scheme that is used to direct 2-leap acknowledgement packets backwards along the same path. For lowering the routing overhead, a little portion of the accepted packets are acknowledged in this approach. The simulation and systematic results are displayed to assess the behaviour and potential of the respective schemes.
