Radiation-induced conductivity of Polyvinylidene Fluoride, Mylar, and Kapton

We are undertaking a systematic study of radiation-induced and dark conductivity of technically important polymeric dielectrics. In previous papers (1) (2) (3) we reported results for Fluorethylenepropylene (Teflon

). In the present note we give results for Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVF
2
) (unstretched, manufactured by Kureha), Mylar (Polyethylene Therephthalate), and Kapton (Polyimide). Measurements have also been made by some other authors (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7).
