Superconducting microstrip filter for DCS1800 base station

This paper describes the design of a highly selective superconducting microstrip bandpass filter for the DCS1800 base station. The filter exhibits a pair of attenuation poles at finite frequencies to improve the selectivity. The utilisation of meander open-loop resonators allows a very small and compact filter configuration to be realised. The filter is fabricated using YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/ thin film HTS material on a MgO substrate that is only 0.3/spl times/39/spl times/22.5 mm. Measured results are presented.
