U.S. Roland fmts - a field maintenance test systems using commercial ate

The Roland weapon system and its particular maintenance sup port requirements are described, leading to the selection of an appropriate automatic test system for field maintenance. Devel oped as a modular system in both its hardware and software elements, and employing the IEEE ATLAS test language, the system is a late generation tester capable of conducting perform ance tests as well as fault isolation routines for a major weap on system. Hardware and software elements of the test system are described, and the environmental protection of the commer cial test equipment is discussed. A description of FMTS soft ware and ATLAS test procedures for Roland low-frequency electronic and hydraulic testing is presented along with a surn mary and conclusion as to the developmental results of using commercial ATE for a military support function.
