A guide to engineering workstations: tips on setting up your workstation

The ergonomic aspects of the engineering workstation environment are addressed. The controversy surrounding the effect of extremely low-frequency (ELF) magnetic fields is examined. Guidelines are given for positioning monitors to keep exposure levels below 0.2 mu T. Suggestions are also given for selecting and positioning the monitor to fend off eye, neck, or back strain and for proper chair and desk configurations.<
