An adaptive controller for megawatt frequency control

In power system operation and control applications, for which adaptive controllers are increasingly seen to be a potential successors to the traditional PID controllers a major aspect of the control problem is the elimination of the offset. In the present paper an adaptive controller is presented for megawatt frequency control to completely eliminate the offset when the system is subjected to a large distuibance. The effectiveness of the proposed controller for considering the generation rate constraints and parameter variations has also been shown.
