Multi-objective stochastic optimal thermal power dispatch

The paper treats non-commensurable objectives such as operating cost, minimal emission and minimum transmission line losses in optimal thermal power dispatch systems using a method which also includes uncertainties and inaccuracies in the system date. The method considers the randomness of system production cost, NOx emission and transmission line loss coefficients via the variance of generator output. Using specific method of reducing it to a deterministic model, a multiobjective optimisation problem is formulated. /spl epsi/-constraint method is used to generate non-inferior solutions, alongwith the trade-off function between conflicting objectives. Interaction with the decision maker to access the indifference band is obtained via the surrogate Worth Trade off method and the utility approach. Surrogate Worth function also provides the optimal trade-off value, from where optimal solution is obtained. The validity and effectiveness of the method has been demonstrated by analysing a 6-generstors system.
