Simulation and analysis of propagation characteristics of partial discharge signal in XLPE cable joint

The partial discharge of cable joint is the main cause of insulation failure. The electromagnetic signal generated from the partial discharge suffers from attenuation and attenuation when it spreads through these interefaces in the cable. The study of Propagation Characteristics of partial discharge signal in cable connector has theoretical significance and practical value for fault detection and assessment of operational status. In this paper, a model of 110kv cross-linked polyethylene cable connector is established based on its pratical dimensions and materials to research signal propagation partial discharge of signal. Three factors of acceptance angles, thickness of insulation materials and propagation distance are studied.
