Overview of advanced control technology for wind power generation

At present, haze has been raging over main cities in China. As a clean, contaminant free and regenerative energy, wind power has received wide acknowledgement and rapid development. Wind power generation has been developing with a tendency for big capacity, variable rotation speed, direct driving and intelligent control. On the basis of control target for wind power generation system, this document analyzes topological structure and control scheme for converters for PMSM wind power generator set (PMSG), mainly focusing on maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control scheme that utilizes fuzzy control and nerve network technology. Doubly fed induction generator system is taken as example to address the realization of low voltage ride through (LVRT) technology. Fuzzy control, nerve network and other intelligent control technology have realized operation of wind power generation system at variable speed and constant frequency. This has become typically new tendency of control technology for wind power generator.
