THz smart mixing modules

Spectrum analyzer is an important class of THz test instruments. We report on a series of smart THz frequency mixing modules for spectrum analyzer. The module uses smart interface to be recognized when connected to the analyzer, and the conversion loss data which storage in the module was read and compensated to the analyzer nearly in the same time. In order to get low displayed noise average level (DNAL), the harmonic mixer in the module was designed to get low conversion loss. The typical DNAL on 0.11THz ∼0.17THz, 0.17THz∼0.22THz and 0.22THz∼0.325THz respectively are −130dBm, −125dBm and −118dBm.
